WEATHER IN THE AMAZON – WHEN TO GO

During the flood season, the water level rises, flooding the forest. The trails are flooded and can be explored in canoes, providing an intimate experience of the surrounding nature. As the water level rises, we will be closer to the treetops and it is possible to spot fauna that shares the space with bromeliads and small reptiles.
During the dry season, the trails can be explored on foot in small groups, always accompanied by local guides. It is possible to see the rich flora of the Amazon and see the “sumaúma” (sumaúma) tree, the largest tree in the region, up close.
The rains that begin at the beginning of the year are when the waters begin to rise and the temperature becomes milder. It is worth witnessing the famous Amazon rain, which is a memorable experience. By mid-March the waters have already risen and the forest is flooded again.
This is when the riverside dwellers begin harvesting cassava and preparing flour.
For those who enjoy tranquility, this is the low season for tourism in the Amazon.
Floods: April, May, June
Low tides: July, August, September
Dry season: October, November, December, January
Floods begin: February, March
