AMAZONAS STATE ONCOLOGY CONTROL CENTER FOUNDATION

Founded in 1974 as the Oncology Center (CECON), the hospital was transformed in 1989 into the Amazonas State Oncology Control Center Foundation (FCecon). Founded 50 years ago, it now offers a range of medical specialties and the main oncology treatments, a factor that has consolidated the institution as a reference in cancer treatment throughout the Western Amazon. In addition to its renowned clinical staff, the Foundation also stands out for its actions in the areas of Prevention and Education and Research, which have been significantly expanded in recent years with the increase in the number of campaigns to combat the disease and research involving academics and doctors, strengthening the scientific area in the state. In terms of assistance, the institution has periodically trained its team, which includes doctors, nurses, nursing technicians, radiology technicians and radiotherapy technicians, through courses, lectures and activities developed at the FCecon facilities, in addition to investing in actions aimed at humanization.
